Pipella Law was proud to take part in Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build 2015, an initiative that helps families break the cycle of poverty by building safe, decent and affordable housing. Over 5 days in May, Habitat for Humanity, Southern Alberta, hosted nearly 150 women who worked on the homes of eight partner families in the community of Redstone. Kimber Pipella and several women from around Calgary volunteered their time to build a new home for one of the local families in need.
This event allows women the opportunity to gather together to address the housing crisis facing millions of women and their families around the world. Participants learn new construction skills and support their community, while encouraging men and boys to celebrate the women in their lives. Women Build brings more affordable opportunities to families in Southern Alberta and supports women empowerment world-wide in its unique community fundraiser and volunteer activity. This event joins women together from across the globe who are fighting to find a better way of living for families. The funds raised by the women and corporate partners totalled over $174,200! Most importantly, the participants had a lot of fun and completed an incredible amount of work.
