April 13th of this year marked the 31st annual Law Day in Alberta and Pipella Law was an active participant with our legal staff guiding a team of young students through several events. Organized by the Canadian Bar Association, in coordination with the Alberta Law Foundation and Law Society of Alberta, Law Day is an event that celebrates our country’s adoption of the Charter, giving the public an opportunity to engage members of Alberta’s legal community. The event’s overall goal is to raise public awareness and knowledge around our laws and legal system.
As with many event volunteers, the lawyers at Pipella Law feel it is important to work with the young people of Calgary who have a genuine interest in the legal system and its potential career opportunities. Guiding a team of seven, Kimber Pipella brought her students through a tour of Calgary’s downtown courthouse, a courtroom trial demonstration, as well as competing in a Mock Trial where team members put their debating skills to task.
As a family run law firm in Calgary, the members of Pipella Law understand the importance of working directly with the young people who are considering law as a potential profession. By presenting positive role models and mentors, our youth in Calgary have the opportunity to access a deeper understanding of our laws and the realities of being a contributing member of the local legal system.
We are always thrilled to be a part of this fantastic national event and we look forward to participating with our staff once again, next year.
