The Calgary Italian Sportswomen’s Dinner Association (CISDA) would like to extend their appreciation first to all the ladies in attendance, but especially to generous individuals and companies that donated to the cause, and naturally to Cheryl Bernard for her fabulous keynote speech.
Pipella Law has once again demonstrated their commitment to the association by sponsoring their annual event.
“The 2015 event was a success.”
The focus of the CISDA is to deliver scholarships to young, Italian women “who have demonstrated excellence in athletics, academics, leadership, fine arts and volunteering.” The scholarship recipients are honored at the CISDA annual gala dinner.
This event serves to both increase awareness of the recipients accomplishments and to celebrate Italian culture in Calgary. The CISDA is proud to provide financial assistance to exceptional young women that will assist them in pursuing their post-secondary educational goals and help them keep winning.
The 2015 keynote speaker was Cheryl Bernard, the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Silver Medalist curler.
Bernard spoke of her experience following four appearances at the National Championships and leading Team Alberta in the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in 1992, 1996, 2007 and 2009. She is also the co-author of: “Between the Sheets: Creating Curling Champions.”
Cheryl Bernard was warmly thanked by the CISDA for her meaningful contribution to the event.
Previous years keynote speakers include:

2011: Mellisa Hollingworth
